Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

I just have a question about the red light camera tickets. I read a section on this website saying that if you ignore a red light ticket, it is safe because you never signed to show up in court and thus nothing can be done against you. But if you tried fighting it, lost, and never paid it, what happens? Does it go on record at the dmv? If i do get a point, does it go away after a certain amount of time if I chose not to pay it? What happens? I got the ticket at an intersection in East Los Angeles and had to appear at the East Los Angeles Courthouse.

There is no requirement that you sign the ticket. The only requirement is that you be served with a citation or a warrant. If you miss the court date you will be found guilty, a civil assessment will be levied, and interest will be charged.
