Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Statute of limitations moving violations

before i left calif i had a running a red light ticket. i never paid it that was more than 10 years ago... i moved shortly there after to a midwestern city. when i applied for a license in the new state my old license had expired (by 3 years)... i filled out the proper paper work and it asked if i had a current license from another state or if i had had one in the last 2 years... i said no i have a new license and i wondered about the old ticket... i had forgotten all about it how can i find out IF i have anything on the old license and how do i go about clearing it up? i thought since the DMV does some background work it may just be off my record.. i've had a license here for 2 years ..any help would be appreciated .

Re: Statute of limitations moving violations

You should contact the California DMV for a printout. If you have an outstanding ticket or warrant it should show up. There may be an active warrant due to a failure to appear. If you require any further assistance call 1-800-327-4652.
