How do you get out of a contigency fee agreement when your lawyer sucks (misses deadlines, doesn't address concerns, no follow through, etc)?

First hire a new layer (do not fire your attorney first), then have the new lawyer fire your lawyer and the new lawyer and old lawyer will work out the fees.

I agree with Mr. Selik. You had better move quickly if your attorney is missing deadlines. This may prejudice your case.
