Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My dad suddenly passed away in Austin colorado. My dads wife is transferring property he owned into a trust for my cousins and just informed me that a will that was written up in 2005 did not include me. I am the only daughter and did not have contact with my da d till 2009. She isn't giving me any money and as the only daughter, my dad would want me to be taken care of. Ive requested to see the will. Can she legally about abandon me as the only child, financially and put property in a trust after my da d death w/o consulting me...then go off of an old will, w/o any compensation?

The answer may depend on whether your dad was a California resident who just happened to be in CO when he died, and whether any of the property is located in California. Under California law, if a child is simply not mentioned in a will, the law presumes they were left out by mistake, and they may inherit the share they would have gotten if there was no will. For CO law you need to consult with a CO attorney or post this question in that forum.
