Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I am filing for a writ of mandate in the 2nd district appellate court in Los Angeles. I know I have to serve the lower court/judge as well as the real party in interest. The trial judge is no longer in the probate division so do I serve the judge even though they're in a different department or do I serve the probate divisioin as they still have jurisdiction over the estate? I'll skip the sordid details.
