Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My grandfather left in his will everything to me when i was 15 yrs old. when he passed away i was left without family and placed in a group home and told i could not recieve it until i was older (21 i think). after leaving the group home i have no family, or information on the inheritance. i will be 21 in 2 months now and would like to know how to go about obtaining the money when the time comes. i don't know who to ask or where to go. what do i do?

You're going to need to start with looking into the Probate Court where your grndfather was residing when he passed away. That is the best starting place for locating the will. Also, do you know what the assets were? Do you know what ank accounts he used?

If you want to contact me off of the list, I can do a preliminary search for you and tell you what I come up with. I can be reached through my site at PasadenaEstatePlanning.com

Also, I believe you could have started this process when you were 18, not 21, unless the will specifically stated otherwise. Not a problem, just as long as you get the ball rolling as soon as possible.
