Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My grandmother passed and left me father an inheritance. My father wants to sign his part of his inheritance over to his grandson now, not when he passes. What would he need to do to do that?

If it's been less than nine months since your grandmother's death, and if the grandmother's will or trust leaves your father's share to his grandson, then your father could sign a disclaimer (be very very careful - an attorney should closely review this to make sure it will work the way your father wants it to work). Otherwise, your father could make a gift to his grandson once your father gets the inheritance into his own hands.
