Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

An order on Petition for Letters of Administration are pending in the probate court; an emergency re mortgages requires temporary Letters. Is a publication of a filed Petition for Special Administration required? Alameda County, CA.

Not for special letters. You still have to notify the persons entitled to notice, at least by telephone, prior to the hearing. And you usually file for the normal letters of administration at the same time, and that includes the notice of hearing that is published as a part of the regular probate.
