Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

received an email (don't know how my email address was received) from an elderly person stating they want to WILL to me a large sum of money for the good work of the lord. gave me the email address of their attorney and gave a personal I.D. code so as to be recognized by the attorney to help in processing the transaction. after emailing the attorney, an email was sent to me requesting some personal info, and again the same email after i replied wanting to discuss in via phone for safety purposes....

Q: Is it just a scam? Lost cause?

Q: Is this something that i should look further into, or just forget about?

It's more than likely a scam to 1) see if you have a working e-mail; and 2) obtain personal information from you. Run the other way.
