as wife shouldnt i be listed as next of kin on death certificate to take care of financial responsibilities which would allow access to bank accounts insurance paper work etc

I do not agree that if you, as spouse, are listed as next of kin on a death certificate will give you access to bank accounts that you are not listed on. The only way that I am aware is to obtain a court order granting you access.
