Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

My husband is on workmen's comp, for a back injury. His doctor now, has taken him off all of his pain medications, except for one, and on the one he has left, the doctor has lowered the amount of pills he is getting by 30. Can his doctor take pain medications away, on the request of the comp carrier, supposidly, or should my husband continue on the pain medications he is taking?

The insurance company should not determine what medications, dosage and etc. injured workers need. They have a utilization review process to monitor and if they can to minimize the care and treatment your husband is entitled to. You may want to consider to change treating doctor if you feel the doctor is biased toward the employer and the insurance company.(remember who pays them.)
