Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

We have a worker who was seriously hurt on the job. He returned to work and now several years later cumulative trauma has aggravated the injury and we now have a different workers comp company for insurance. He needs medical treatment who do I go through the original company from 6 yrs ago or my new company that I have had for the past 5 yrs?

I'd start with the old company, you've already had that 'loss' on your records... check with that old insurer and have the claim number and get the worker to the doctor that send him back to the same job 5 years back (or a clinic for that old insurer ASAP). You can give a note to the new insurance company but be careful to note the same body parts that were already injured and accepted and treated flared up from routine duties which the worker was ok'd to perform, so you wish the new claim to be denied and the prior carrier to pay for treatment and benefits.
