Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado

I have been running a rental referral company in Denver Colorado for almost a year now. I had a customer who filed a complaint with the DA for not getting thier deposit back after they changed thier mind on a property. I was unaware that I am required to be a liscensed broker until today. I am starting that process to get liscensed. What can or will the DA do in a case like this? Can I be attrested for something like this? I do not want to break any laws....

What the DA can do and will do are two different things. If you have committed a criminal violation and you have no criminal record you may be able to reach a deal that keeps the charge off your record. If an investigator contacts you I suggest you tell him/her that you will be happy to speak with him or her, but only if your attorney is present. If they decide to pursue a charge, chances are they would issue you a citation and not arrest you. I would hire an attorney.
