Legal Question in Technology Law in Colorado

I have a couple questions. I was charged with Theft By Recieving. And one of my questions is, how seriouse is that? The value of the item is $128.87. It is my first offence. My second question is, i am enlisted in the United States Marines and im due to ship out the 28th Of January. How will that effect my sentance or what ever i might get?

Because you have orders, you need to act fast. If you do not have a lawyer, you need to get one right away. If you do have one, you need to ask him to help you get a diversion (if possible) or a suspended sentence (if the prosecutor will agree). Your case should be classified as a misdemeanor.

You are likely to receive probation, and you'll need to clear the probation with the probation office in order not to be a probation violator while you are overseas.

If you have a lawyer, you have to work through him. If you do not, you have to get one right away.
