child support/non-custoial rights

I have 2 children that I pay support on and I am past due on my support 17000.00 dollars worth the support is set higher then I can pay how can I get it reduced without have to higher a lawyer and returning to the state of washinton. Plus can owening support be a reason for dismissal,retention or being hired for a job. I presently pay 50% of my pay for child support of 20,000.00 per year and it has made life hard with a new family

I suggest you write to Legal Aid in the city where the original support order was entered. Explain your problem, enclose a copy of the support order and a copy of your pay slip. Ask them whether they can help and if not, whether they can suggest what you could do.
