Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

Okay so I got a misdemeanor for burglary at walmart in 2013. I got 3 year probation so I'm about half way done. How soon can I get off probation and get an expungement? I'm also going to school to become a psychologist will it affect me getting my license? I Want to work for the VA hospitals/clinics will the misdemeanor be an issue with that even if it's expunged? I'm planning to get my license either in California nevada but most likely in Colorado.

You can ask for early termination. The worst that can happen is you get told "no." Otherwise, at the end of the three years.

As to whether or not you can expunge it, it depends on the terms of your deal. Assuming you ended up with a straight conviction, you can not expunge it.

As to whether or not it will affect licensure, it depends on the body. You need to ask the licensing agency. At the very least, they will want it disclosed.

Finally, even expunging does not work well with Federal agencies. As to whether or not the VA will care about a misdemeanor, you'll have to ask them. I suspect it will.
