Can paralegal represent me if custody issues get difficult?
I am now into 6 months since I filed for my divorce. There is a history of domestic violence and my husband has been found guilty both times. I now have a TRO and a hearing set for a PRO. He told the paralegal who represents me if I dont drop the restaining order he will try to get joint custody of our children. I want sole custody allowing him some visitation. Can she cut the mustard with a sticky situation like this? He does not have any legal representation, the paralegal has been working with both of us but represents me. My second question is would the court ever allow him to have joint custody with a history of domestic violence, drug and alcohol addiction, Dui, probation and past menacing charges?

No, the court would not. However, if he really wants to press the case, it would be advisable to have an attorney.
