Legal Question in Immigration Law in Colorado

hi my name is getu I just want ask you something which is about Law. a girl married someone from outside USA and brought him to USA. however she doesn't let him stay with her and she started nagging and abused him and he doesn't know where to go because he was new comer and he never have any body who can help him and he said that he has disgusted by her. after 6 month he borrowed money and he got back to where he came from and he said that she has reported that he got lost. after few month stayed in his country, he got back to USA. but he never stay with her he lives with other his country fellows and he is working now at 7eleven and he has two years green card.so he is thinking how he is going to get his citizenship. he asked her through her friend whenever the time comes to get his citizenship, if she is OK to sigh with out any problem as long as they have married but not live together and still they have legal married certificate. but she said that in order to get his citizenship, no matter what happened he has to pay her for that if sign for him for his citizenship . but he doesn't know how much could be. but she said he has to pay her in order to get his citizenship. does he need lawyer? what if she couldn't sign? will he get back where he came from forever? does the law stand for her for her mistake? he never asked her to marry him but she went outside USA and married him and brought him. so where is his mistake? he said that he has been suffered in her hand. what law said? what is the law said for such situation? he really need help. what he has to do to get his citizenship if she refused to sign.

I believe you need to see an attorney. After 2 years with a green card through marriage you can get the conditions removed. You do not have to be married to do this; there is another way that will involve a waiver. It is possible. I have cases often times where the husband or wife feels obligated to stay in a relationship and lets the citizen spouse abuse them or extort them for money to stay married. What matters is that on the day of the wedding it was a legitimate marriage. People get divorced. Immigraiton gets that. But this is a very murky area of law that you can get lost in if you don't hire someone to help you. It will be money well spent.
