Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Colorado

too much?

moved out april 29. recieved letter stating $1140charges ,pay up or go to court. we did send a dispute letter.statement does not include what $1000deposit was used for. they say apt. was badly damaged we believe these charges are false. unfortunalty we have no proof ecxept out word. a walk through was not provided or offered. they are ready to go to court. we have deciede to try and talk to them in person and see what we can do. what q's do i need to ask. and if they can provide a reason for the deposit what then?

Without reviewing the statement from the landlord and getting more facts, it is impossible to determine your matter or options. Also, in Colorado a walk through is not required.

Either learn the law about security deposits and issues as to "wear and tear" versus damage or contact an attorney.
