Legal Question in Military Law in Colorado

prosecution based on EPSQ?

I'm applying to be an officer in the Navy, with the intention of being an

Intel officer. I'm concerned that on the application form it asks me to

list all the countries I've visited in the past 7 years. I've visited about 4

or 5, but I have also made two unlicensed visits to Cuba in that time (to

visit a girl, nothing nefarious). I don't want to lie on the app., but I'm

also concerned that they could hand it over to OFAC and be prosecuted

since I've essentially admitted that I've been. Could I be prosecuted for

an admission of a past wrongdoing on the application?

Re: prosecution based on EPSQ?

Yes, you're going to have some problems, primarily with any future security clearance. You are right that you may have problems later if you lie on the EPSQ. Have had situations where clients had bad past, lied on EPSQ, and got into trouble for the lie, and not necessarily the underlying "misconduct."
