Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado

Real Property Abandonment

I have owned a lot for 28 years in a mountain area which has recently become unuseable due to the county enacting construction rules prohibiting building on land with a slope of greater than 29 degrees. Mine is estimated at 50 degrees. I can't sell it, donate it (appraiser refuses to appraise due to above) or use it. Would like to simply abandon (legally). Taxes are current. It also has a POA and water company with required dues.

Re: Real Property Abandonment

Before taking any action you need legal advice concerning "reverse condemnation". The county may be required to purchase the land from you or at least pay you the value they have diminished the lot by, by their actions.
