Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

will reading of my father

my father passed away in january 2008.my brother and I do not speak and was told not to go to funeral. was not given the lawyers name who had the will,know there is a trust but dont know how to find out how to find the lawyer in charge. how would I find out who handled the estate and how to contest it if need be?

Your father's estate would be handled by the Connecticut Probate Court that covers the town where your father was living when he passed away. A phone call to the court would be the way to learn if you are properly listed as your father's son. A will contest is a complex matter and you would be strongly advised to consult with an attorney. Go to the probate court in the town where your father resided. There should have been a notice to creditors in the newspaper to contact the attorney naming him.
