Legal Question in Disability Law in Connecticut

Housing Discrimination

Is Attention Deficit Disorder covered under the Americans with Disabilies Act or The Rehibilitation Act 1973. I was denied public housing even though I asked for an informal hearing based on the fact I am being treated for that disorder.

Re: Housing Discrimination

It may be that ADD is a covered disability. As a general rule, in order to constitute a disability a condition must substantially impair a major life activity. You also have to consider the effect of any measures you can take that may help to relieve your symptoms.

You probably need to consult with an attorney to discuss your situation and how to address it.
