You need an attorney experienced in criminal defense. If you have no criminal record thus far, it may be something that can be handled with discretion and expedience and taken care of properly by the right attorney. Lying is not an option for you. My partner and I handle matters like this frequently and we are relatively close to East Haven, with our offices in Stratford.
