Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My childrens father has a purdge of 2500 from may. He has only been found of contempt and placed in jail for 30 days. Now we go to court in november and the judge put the purdge to 0 how can he get out of paying this? As it is he doent meet his support amout or pay weekly like hes ordered to. Also is there a pro bono lawyer in ct that can help me?

What is a "purdge"? Do you mean support arrearage?
