Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut

i lent someone money with a written agreement that the loan would be paid in 60 days. after that period the borrower would pay 10% annual interest. to date i have not received payment. i am out of funds and the distress has contributed to some mental distress. i know that their home is not in their name and this person does not work in the traditional sense. can i file a civil suit?

You can always file a civil suit. However if the person you file against has no assets, no insurance, and no money you may be throwing good money after bad as the Defendant may be judgment proof. Sorry. Feel free to contact us if you would like further information or assistance 203.870.6700.
