Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut

As of 1998 we have had a Lawyer renting part or our garage for storage. He has not paid his bill

for two years, owing us $3000.00. Also, we have no lease with this person. After several phone

calls in which we've mentioned for him to leave, he always agrees--but never does. What

would you advise us to do?

You could file an action in small claims court against him for the $3000.00 plus the costs of the action. You don't need a written lease to win the case. The fact that you have a verbal agreement should be enough that he owes you the money.
