Legal Question in Personal Injury in Connecticut

my son had an accident and it's been three years since the lawyer has actually called him in response to the incident we call the insurance company they were unable to speak to us because he is being represented by a lawyer the only thing they were able to tell us was that the case was in suit now we call the attorney and ask the attorney to call the insurance company to tell them that he is no longer going to represent him and he refused to do that can he do that

No. An attorney cannot refuse to give up his representation if ordered by his client to do so. The file is your property, not the attorneys. If you send a letter to the attorney firing him or her, she or he must return your file to you. They are of course still entitled to a fee however. Make sure that you fire the attorney in writing. Do not forget to punctuate your letter.
