Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

Friend won't give me back my property

I let a friend (husbands Cousin) use a saddle of mine. She was going to give it to a woman to use when she leased my horse, but the lease fell thru. (May, 2003) I have been trying to get the saddle back sence then, but my friend wont call back, e-mail me back, or write back. I live in Rhode Island, and she lives in Conneticut. I would like to take her to court to get my saddle back, but don't know if I should file in RI or CT, and don't know how to go about doing this. I have sent her 2 letters in the past 2-1/2 weeks, but have not sent her a registered letter because I think that if she sees my name, she won't pick the letter up. What else can I leagally do?

Thank you!

Re: Friend won't give me back my property

If the saddle is worth less than $3500, take her to the small claims court in Connecticut. It's cheap, fast and easy. Go to www.ct.gov and follow the links.
