Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

My wife and I attempted to purchase a home several years ago however the underwriter denied our application. Can we receive a refund of the deposit we put down and is so is there a statue of limitation as this was several years ago?

Not enough info. "Deposit" with whom? The deposit paid to the seller? (The down payment). A "deposit" with the mortgage broker (an application fee, perhaps)? Did the purchase contract have a mortgage contingency clause, and if so, did you provide timely notice to the seller of your inability to obtain the mortgage? The statute of limitations is probabby 6 years in your case.
