Legal Question in Bankruptcy in District of Columbia

Foreclosure and Bankruptcy

Hello- I am facing foreclosure and happen to be out of country or a family emergency and have no way of being back in next few weeks. Can I file bankruptcy as an absentee with attorney representation? Also, what other venues are available to prolong this, the trustee sale is in three weeks and lender. Thank you in advance.
