Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida

My Exhusband has filed bankruptcy. He still owes me money for when we sold the house. He says he doesn't have to pay that back, even though it is in the divorce agreement. Is that true? If not what kind of lawyer do I need to counter this?

He lives in West Virginia and I live in Florida.

Consult a bankruptcy attorney to review the petition and related discharge, if any. Your husband is relieved of any debt payment to you only if the debt is included in those debts discharged. The debt may be included in the unsecured priority debts which will not be discharged. If he has named you as a creditor, you have a right to examine and contest any debt to you which he attempts to discharge. If he hasn't named you as a creditor, the debt will remain after the bankruptcy.
