What is the statute of limitation to sue a contractor for defects in windows and window installations?

It depends. Were the defects noticeable/visible. If yes and you have a written contract it is five years. oral contracts are four yes but statute of frauds state home renovation contracts must be in writing. If defect not visible, you have 4 years from the time the defect is noticed or should have been noticed, up to 10 years. There are certain steps that must be taken before you can sue a contractor.
