Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

We received a letter from Tampa water utilities stating they made an error in JAN 2010 and charged us incorrectly. They now (Sept) want us to pay the correct amount ($340.89) and say we have till Oct 31 before services are turned off etc. Do we have any rights since it was there mistake and it's been almost 9 months? Are we legally held to even paying the bill? We are always on time and never late with payments. We are in good standing. Just wanted to know if we have any leeway with this? Thanks

Conmtact them directly. You owe the bill, but they will usually work out a payment plan for you to catch up.
