Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

in florida, if a debt collector wont validate the debt you are asking them to but they still attempt to collect what can the consumer do if any? also, if the debt account isn't yours, shouldn't they prove it? what constitutes proof?

You may be able to make a claim against the debt collector for violation of the federal or Florida Fair Debt Collection Practices Acts.
