Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Garnishment of wages

I have a debt that is 18 years old. They waited 6 years to decided to start the re-collection process. The original balance was $5,000. Because of interest, it is now $15,000. They garnished my wages without prior notice. If filed a statute to stop the garnishment, but they are still garnishing until this is resolved. Is there a limit time on a collection process?

Unless they have a judgment, they cannot garnish anything.
