Mom being sued ...

Hello,

My dad & mom purchased a NEW Toyota Tacoma in 2003. My Dad passed away in 2004. My mom returned vehicle to dealer and now she is getting sued for $7,765.00..

Question: what option is their for this case with the following Facts..

Mom�s age 78

retired

On dialysis 3 time a week

Does not drive

Fixed income $800 SS

On Medicare

Owns home

Is their something that CAN BE DOWN FOR SENIORS/ELDERLY IN THIS CASE????

Your mom owes the money. Whether the creditor can collect on a judgment is another matter. Sounds to me like she's judgment-proof, because her SS income is untouchable. If she has other assets, the creditor may have to wait for her passing and file claim on her estate. Or, you could pay it for her.
