Social Security and pension payments are exempt. I still suggest that you consult with a bankruptcy attorney, most offer free consultations. You should discuss your entire financial circumstances to decide whether allowing creditors to simply obtain judgments against you is the best course of action. If you own your car or have other assets that a creditor may seize you may be well served to consider bankruptcy as an option. Best of luck.

I would suggest you consult with a consumer lawyer. Credit card companies very seldom win these cases if the debtor is represented by a consumer lawyer. see www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com
