Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

In May of 2006, at the age of 13, I was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. I was fingerprinted and booked into the jail where I only stayed for about an hour until my grandmother could come and get me. I never had to appear in court and was told that I had a no bill for the charge. Now, at the age of 24, I am trying to get a job in a nursing home and have to pass a level 2 background check. I was doing some research and found out that at 24 years old your juvenile record was automatically expunged under certain circumstances. Is this true? And do I have anything to worry about as far as my background check goes? I live in Florida.

Yes it is true. However, I have seen cases where juvenile records will show up in high level background checks. They shouldn't, but somehow they do on rare occasions. You can elect to have it statutorily expunged too, but that's probably not the best option since you only get to do that once in your life.
