Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My brother was arrested the other night for DV BATTERY. he is 21 years old. he beat me up and im 17. i called the cops and they took him. im not sure how to go about help with questions i have. i want to know if there is any way i can press charges or have a restraining order put on him. the police took pictures of what he did to me and the damage to the house. the the numerous blows to my face he put me into a choke hold and the hold was so tight that i was not able to breathe or exhale and i blacked out. i have bruising all over my neck from it and my throat still hurts and i have blood in my spit. i cant move my neck in to many directions. what can i do to have charges pressed or a restraining order put on him?

The state will pursue the charges. You can get a seperate restraining order by fiulling out the forms at the court house.
