Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Anything I can do?Ok so here goes my mother and I got into an argument 2 weeks ago. It got worse that night and she hit me in the head with a remote control. My wife heard all the fuss and ran down the hallway to see what was going on. They started to argue (with me in the middle) and then my mother hits my wife on the face. I try to push both of them back I push my mother and she falls. Then I turn to my wife and I'm trying to push her down the hallway when my mother stabs her in the face three times, with a small metal garden shovel. My wife starts to bleed everywhere and calls 911 she goes to jail and my wide goes the the hospital. My mother got battery and assault with a deadly weapon. My wife got a broke nose a conclusion and some mild lacerations. The Florida states attorney called us about the case and I told her the same story. She said they were dropping charges because she could claim self defense because she is the homeowner. Now she is threatening to file a restraining order to kick us out. It's just crazy how my wife was the victim and we are being punished. Is there anything I can do ?

Yes. You or your wife can get an attorney to file a restraining order, or if you gets filed against you, then you are going to need an attorney anyway to defend yourself and your wife.
