Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

How long does Pinellas County have to extradite someone from Michigan? I heard a rumor that someone who is facing charges (inlcuding absconded Florida Career Offender, and subsequent FTA w/bail jump - both felonies) in Florida may be released after only 11 days from the jail in Michigan if Florida doesn't pick him up by then!! Today is day 8 since he was picked up by Oakland County. He's got a lenghty criminal record and several regular citizens worked really hard to track him down and get him turned in and now we are nervous Michigan is going to cut him lose, as we can't imagine Florida not wanting him (he even has a historic escape conviction so, he's obviously a runner). Is it true Michigan doesn't have to wait the 30 days the UCEA allows? He was denined bond and has no other charges in Oakland, if that matters at all. :(
