Can the past charges on your record be held against me on another present crime. I am being told that they want to give me more time in jail because of another crime commited 5 years ago. it does not relate to the present situation is this correct?

Re: need Help

Absolutely, your prior criminal record is always relevant in terms of the State or the judge deciding on an appropriate punishment for your current crime. It shows that you have a propensity for criminal activity and your inability to stop committing crimes deserves harcher punishment.

Sorry for the bad news.
