Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I am not sure how to proceed in court. I was charged simple battery in Jan of this year I plead out for thirty days and a year probation. They also set a restitution reserve for march 30. I was notified july 20 that a restitution hearing was set for 30 of the month. The shady thing is that notification was direct state attorney office, and it appointed meas my own attorney. I already paid a public defender in jan. Because of that the judge granted me a contitueance. now I recieved a letter from the circuit court for a court docket for a battery charge on the 19th.

It sounds as if they reserved on restitution when you pled out earlier this year, and now the state attorney has the numbers. You have the right to challenge those numbers and your public defender should still be appointed on the case. The battery charge sounds like your original battery charge but just a hearing for restitution. Talk with your public defender more about this and they should help you.
