Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

So here is my question..

A friend of mine left his bag in my car with all his id in it (birth certificate, id, and passport). My boyfriend who didn't know all that stuff was in the bag threw the bag out. My friend asked me about the bag and I told him my boyfriend took it and threw it out. He then said all his ids were in there and that he is going to call the cops for identity theft. My boyfriend threw it out because he doesn't like my friend but the bag looked empty and he did not know the ids were in there.

How much trouble can he get into?

It is not a crime if there was no intent, so he should not be facing any trouble. Of course, if your friend wanted to be malicious, I suppose your boyfriend could be sued in small claims court for the cost of obtaining new IDs and any other items lost.
