Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I recently completed a pre-trial diversion program for petty theft. I am planning to start the process of sealing my records next month, however I've heard that the whole process can take 5-7months. My sister is getting married in India in September and I was wondering if you're allowed to leave the country during the time your record is being sealed without any problems.

If you have completed a diversion program and are eligible to seal or expunge your record, and if the state has filed the requisite paperwork to dismiss the charges (a nol pros), you are no longer under the authority of the court and can go do anything you want to. If the nol pors hasn't been filed yet, you should check with the diversion program manager before you leave, but there should be no problem. The sealing or expungement will not hold you up.
