Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

My son was arrested (in florida) for drug trafficking phenethylamines, 893.135.1k1(10 grams or more) he had 12 grams (40 pills). He was also arrested on a pending charge sell of a synthetic narcotic FSS 893.13.1a (20 pills). He was ROR'd on his first arrest, then on the second arrest he is out on bond ($10,000). He has never been in trouble before, what are his chances he will not have to serve any jail time? The person he was selling the drugs to was wearing a wire and was cooperating with the detective. My son also cooperated with the detective and was trying to set up the person who sold him the drugs but my son was very nervous wearing a wire and when he went into the house, the situation was not what he expected and had to leave. A few days after that is when he was arrested for the pending charge.

I hope your son has an attorney in this case . The reason I asked whether he had an attorney was in most cases like this your son should be attempting to cooperate with law enforcement in the apprehension of other drug dealers should get a lighter sentence which might keep him out of prison and allow him to serve some time in a county jail and other time on probation. The substantive offense is a mandatory prison offense. If you would like to to talk with me about this as a second opinion e-mail me your phone number so I can call you. If your son doesn't have an attorney then I would suggest you e-mail me quickly to discuss the situation.

Sincerely,

Robert Roemer
