Legal Question in Elder Law in Florida

My mother is senile and is being taken care of by one of my sisters, Maureen, who is living with my mother. This sister is using my mother's American Express card for both her personal and business expenses. One of my other sister's, Patty, has power of attorney and I have asked her if she is aware of the balance on the revolving credit portion of the Amex account, to which she claims there is no balance and Maureen is paying the amont due each month. I know for a fact that there had been a large amount on the revolving credit portion and had told Patty this, they both will now not discuss the matter with me. Can I do a credit check on my mother without her or my sister's consent to detemine what amount si on the account?

Probably not that will discover a balance. American Express cards do not carry balances from month to month. are you sure there is one? Why not just go and get last months bill.

If your sister is stealing from your mother, she can be reported to DCF and they will address the issue as an elderly abuse or exploitation issue.
