Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Florida

Copyright ?

I produced a track, wrote and performed my verse and my portion of the chorus, I also recorded, mixed, and mastered the song. (i guess that gives me the right to the sound recording). I have a featured artist on the song and they wrote and performed their verse and their portion of the chorus.

Which Copyright form do I use, form PA or SR? I need to copyright my lyrics and the actual beat without taking credit for what the other performer wrote his own lyrics. Please advise asap Thanks!!

Re: Copyright ?

Do your best to reach an agreement with the other party so that you can avoid conflicting filings, which would just lead to big headaches down the road. I can probably help you get this settled.

Re: Copyright ?

Form SR can be used to cover the function of both forms. Form PA is used to cover the composition of the song, whereas Form SR covers both the composition and the actual recording.

The form won't allow you to copyright specific verses or lyrics, so you may have to put down something like 50% of all music and sound recording. Your co-writer should probably do an SR and fill it out the same way.
