Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Hello im 21 years old. I used to sleep with this one guy for money. He was my sugar daddy. Well I foundout I was pregnant and I don't want him around. He won't leave me alone he keep threatening to tell my family about the situation and says he will take me to court. He also keeps saying he will be at the hospital when the baby is born regardless of how I feel about it. He works with a construction company who pays him under the table. I work at Joannes Fabrics and I live with my parents who are both military. Does he have any rights? Can he fight for custody? How can I get him to leave me alone. I moved from Florida to Maryland when I found out I was pregnant to get away from him and to have a better life for my unborn son.

As father he has certain parental rights until a judge says differently.

He has equal rights to the child so I recommend you get a lawyer.

Well you have given enough info on this web site that your parents are sure to know what is going on. Since you are not married to the man, he has NO rights! If you put him on the birth certificate then he will. The only way he will get any rights is if he files an action in court to determine paternity. I suggest you come clean with your parents. They can still claim you as a dependent and pay for the birth of this child. It will be up to the courts to decide whether or not the father, if he is the father, will have rights.
